This week our guided reading book is “Senses” to match our poem. Have a look and let me know what you think.
Our phonics is the alternate graphemes for the soft ‘c’ sound. Today, I’d like you to think about the words that have the ‘ce’ grapheme. Make a list from what Mr Thorne says. What other words do you know? When do you use that sound?

This week we are finishing our work on addition to 20 and starting subtraction later in the week.
If you are using Oak Academy, you’ve got a slightly different lesson to start with, and don’t forget, if you want your power maths book, drop me an email and I’ll leave it in the office for you.

We have moved from Little Red Riding Hood to poetry this week! I do like poetry. It’s called “Sniff, Sniff, Sniff”. What do you think it will be about? Have a chat to your adult, and then see if you were right.

Today’s grapheme is a tricky one – it’s ‘stl’, as in ‘castle’, ‘pestle’, and ‘bustle’. Can you find any others?

If you are using Power Maths, today is the day to assess your work at the end of the unit. There’s a page for that. If you are using Oak Academy, then you are doing this lesson.

Today, I’d like you to take a reading book and see what examples you can find of the graphemes that we have done this week. Which do you think you will find more of? Does it depend on the book?
