Holkham’s Friday Celebrations (19/06/20)
Good afternoon Holkham,
I hope had a great week this and are looking forward to the weekend. Don’t forget that for some of it it’ll be a time to celebrate Father’s day. Even though it’s called Father’s day, you can use this is a day to make any of the grown ups in your life feel special. Remember you can still use this weeks ‘Home Learning Grid’ over the weekend if you’d like to – find it here…Year 3 and 4. Don’t forget that you can find your new story text in Monday’s blog. There you will also supporting links and videos to Science, Maths and Topic. Thank you for reading with your grown ups for 10 minutes every day.
Borislav has had a great week writing his boxing up of ‘The King of Fishes’. This will be so useful when we writes his innovation in the coming weeks. He’s been researching the states of matter, Hadrian’s wall and extending his grammar knowledge to include brilliant connectives. Well done!
I have attached photos of the last 2 weeks of Brayden’s home learning. He’s produced amazing an illustration of the colosseum, great work on shape using Education City and an interesting fact file on Hardian’s wall. He’s also completed research on catapults and designed his own brand of soda. Brayden has also created the most amazing 3D model of the colosseum too, with an incredible amount of detail. Great job Brayden!
David has created a fantastic illustration of the colosseum and research on the amazing structure too. He has also been working hard on plotting out stories, spellings, melting/freezing points of liquids and adding fractions. Wow David!
George, like Brayden and David, has also draw a beautiful illustration of the colosseum and has also been looking at melting/freezing points. He’s created a brilliant boxing up which will help him so much moving forward and has made great progress in Maths when recognising the properties of 3D shapes. Good job George!
Final Messages (copied from last week)
As you know, last week Greyfriars Academy proceeded with an extended opening to children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 6, following Government guidelines. Unfortunately, we now know that opening will not extend to Year 3/4 pupil unless they are part of a key-working family until September. Obviously, I’m very upset that Holkham Class will not be back together in person but in spirit we truly are a community. Please contact me if I can do anything to support your child’s learning further. Also you can contact the school office if you would like anymore information.
I will continue my blogging and video messages on a Monday and Friday, with a short video message included each Friday. You will still receive your child’s ‘Home Learning Grids’ as usual on a Monday morning. Please note it might take me slightly longer to reply to E-mail enquiries.
Remember that you can (but do not have to) access learning resources from The Oak National Academy and BBC Bitesize which they are adding to daily.
Hope you have a great weekend,
