Blakeney’s mad scientists at work!

Last week, we had great fun learning how light travels. We experimented by turning out the lights and using torches on a variety of objects to see if light went through them. We discovered that sometimes objects were transparent as light went through them. Sometimes the light changed colour and spread out – that meant the object was translucent. The photo below shows a translucent globe. When the light didn’t go through, it meant the object was opaque.

This week, we investigated how shadows were made and created our own shadow puppets! In literacy, we made up our own shadow puppet plays.
